Klaipedos Nafta AB reloaded 710,000 tons of petroleum products into the storage tanks – this is 12 per cent more than compared to June 2015, when the reloading volume was 634,000 tons. The company saw the biggest jump in the loading of light oil products, the flows of which were generated by factories in Mažeikiai and Byelorussia.
During the first six months of this year, the loading quantities of the Klaipėda oil terminal as well as the Subačius Fuel Base have grown by a total of 32.9 percent. The quantities handled in both terminals account for 4.4 million tons of petroleum products, as compared to the same period of the previous year when 3.3 million tons were reloaded.
The main reasons behind the increase are related to the growth of local production as well as of demand in the area of transhipment volumes from Byelorussian factories.
In June, the amount of the gas the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal re-gasified and supplied to the natural gas transmission system was 1,323,000 MWh, i.e. three times more than last year, but during a period of six months, the terminal provided its consumers with 9,207,000 MWh of natural gas.
“The results of the loading of petroleum products remain far too great for a decrease, as the company is in constant search for opportunities which could contribute to a further diversification of our services and help react swiftly to the needs of customers and partners. Furthermore, we have not only handled regular flows of petroleum products, but also renewed the reloading of aviation fuel from the Mažeikiai Orlen factory. All of this has had a positive effect on the loading results of the company,” said Mantas Bartuška, General Manager of Klaipėdos nafta, AB.
The increase of the preliminary sales revenue that came from the loading of petroleum products that was reported in June amounted to 29 percent. The revenue earned from these particular business activities in June covers EUR 4 million. The preliminary sales revenue of the LNG terminal amounted to EUR 5.5 million in June – and this number is 1.9 per cent greater than that of June last year. The sales revenue received from the LNG terminal, whose activities are regulated by the State, accounts for one-twelfth of the liquefaction activity revenue and regasification tariff revenues actually received for the period based on the tariffs approved by the National Commission for Energy Control and Prices for the year of 2016.
The preliminary sales revenue of the Company for the first half of 2016 comprises EUR 34.1 million. A total of EUR 57.8 million (i.e. 7.3 per cent greater compared to the same period in 2015) of preliminary sales revenue has been generated so far.
The State owns 72.32 percent of Klaipėdos nafta shares.
