2016-10-21 Company news
Klaipėdos Nafta, AB, the operator of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, and Belarusskaja neftenaja kampanija (BNK) have signed a long-term contract for fuel oil transshipment services. It is the first contract of such duration to give meaning to the cooperation between the Belarusian company and Klaipėdos Nafta.

Since the Belarusian oil refining companies transship the oil products through the company’s terminal and this cooperation has been mutually beneficial, both parties have expressed an interest to extend the cooperation for a longer period – a period of three years with the option to extend it for another two years. The contract will come into effect on November 1st.

“Leaded by effective cooperation, this agreement ensures loading of oil products from the major Belarussian refineries – Mozyr and Naftan. Long-term cooperation proves that Klaipedos Nafta has all the necessary competencies, technological capabilities and promptly respond to the client's needs and ensure quality of service. It is important to note that the presence of BNK, as of a business partner, in the port of Klaipėda brings economic benefit not only for Klaipėdos Nafta, but also for the port and other related undertakings. Klaipėdos Nafta implements a strategy to ensure stable long-term transshipment through its terminals and, as the company is going to expand its technical capacity in the future, even more services will be available”, – comments Mantas Bartuška, CEO of Klaipėdos nafta, AB.

The state owns 72.32 percent of shares in Klaipėdos Nafta.
