KN awarded Transparency Academy Certificate

2022-12-23 Company news

In 2021-2022, AB Klaipėdos nafta (hereinafter – KN) participated in the Transparency Academy, an exchange project on good anti-corruption practices. The project was concluded at the Transparency Celebration held at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Lithuania, during which the Director of the Special Investigation Service (STT) Žydrūnas Bartkus handed over the certificate of the Transparency Academy to KN.

The anti-corruption status of the KN was assessed during the Transparency Academy project. Its corruption resilience level was found to be as high as 88%. This is 22% higher than in 2021, when the corruption resilience level was 66%.

Darius Bručkus, the Corporate Security Manager, notes that the increase in the corruption resilience level is due to the consistent joint work of all the company's departments in updating the existing internal procedures, considering best practices, recommendations of external and internal audits, and the strong personal focus of the company's management in shaping the improvement of the anti-corruption environment and the adherence to commitments.

The regular anti-corruption education trainings, the employee corruption tolerance survey and the allocation of information related to corruption prevention to a separate section on the KN's website and the updating of the information therein also contributed to the higher rating.

In the area of risk management, the maximum rating was achieved by assessing all corporate functions, establishing a prioritised list of risks and reporting regularly to the Board, thereby managing and mitigating the risks identified. Other measures implemented in the company, such as the risk event register in the document management system, the streamlining of the stakeholder verification process, and the periodic audits of the company's functions, have also contributed to the improved rating.

The active involvement of employees of the KN in creating a corruption-resistant environment had a significant impact on the anti-corruption transparency culture in the company.
