Investments were led by Subacius Fuel Base (SFB) strategy, which provides to complete SFB fire-fighting departmental equipment modernization and in this way to ensure Lithuanian Fire and Rescue Department requirements.

A few years ago the company was planning to invest in the modernization of the old stationary fire-fighting equipment, but much more effective choice was made – to upgrade mobile fire-fighting equipment and tools.

“Klaipedos Nafta’s” 2016-2020 annual strategy clearly distinguishes the assurance of safe and reliable operation of oil and LNG terminals, so the company will continue to consistently invest in projects of this kind, "- comments Mantas Bartuška, SC Klaipedos Nafta CEO.

Total investment in the SFB fire-fighting equipment reaches 377 thousand EUR excluding VAT. Major part is designated for mobile extinguishing equipment: pumping station, hoses and foam car modernization. In case of fire the water would be supplied from all the surrounding water sources. The company is also modernizing the water supply system from the river Lėvuot. This will shorten the preparation time for fire-fighting and supply the required amount of water in case of fire.

Currently, SFB fire-fighting is taken care of the company's established departmental fire forces. Each shift employs 4 personnel-firefighters to ensure the productive process and fire prevention.

Klaipedos Nafta took over Subacius Fuel Base administrating since 2012 September.
